Course Description

The course is planned to establish the student’s ability to understand polymers, polymer processing, polymer composites, polymer synthesis and properties of polymers

Course Main Objective

The main aim of this course is to learn about polymers, types of polymers, properties of polymers and polymer composites. At the end of the course the students should be able to select the polymer for a particular application

Depict the basic vocabulary of polymer science and polymer engineering to understand the linkage of polymer and chemical engineering

 Relate the main properties of polymer related to the final application (physical, mechanical, and thermal) to improve polymer properties

Analyze the molar mass and molar mass distribution of polymer to broaden the applications of polymer products

Apply polymer processing techniques used to shape the final applications of polymers

 Apply the concept and principle of polymer composites for polymer reinforcement

Recognize the effect of several factors on the final properties of polymer products
