The student is introduced to the general chemistry through understanding the physical properties of solution, thermochemistry, solids and liquids, gases, chemical kinetics and knowing the oxidation reduction reactions.

     Explain the kinetic molecular theory of liquids and solids, intermolecular and intramolecular forces, some properties of liquids and solids.

    Describe the types of solutions, the concentration units and apply the colligative properties of electrolyte and nonelectrolyte solutions.

     Describe the reaction rate and know the variables affecting the rate of reaction.

     Describe the oxidtion reduction reactions and the oxidation number
