This course covers the history and importance of microbiology, the structure of prokaryotic and eukaryotic microbial cells, and methods of nutrition, growth, and reproduction in microorganisms. It also provides a conceptual and experimental background on different microorganisms (Viruses, Bacteria, Fungi, Algae and Protozoa) sufficient to enable students to take more advanced courses in related fields.
