The Microbial Secondary Metabolism course is one of the elective courses in the study plan of the bachelor's degree program in Microbiology. This course mainly designed for students of microbiology to cover the basic aspects of microbial secondary metabolism through introduction to microbial metabolism, importance of energy, matter, and enzymes in microbial metabolism as well as microbial metabolism of carbohydrates, lipids and proteins. The important secondary metabolites of microorganisms will be discussed. Also, this course will cover induction of microbial secondary metabolites and their production and applications.
