The Bacteriology (II) course is one of the important compulsory courses in the study plan of the bachelor's degree program in Microbiology. This course gives introduction on the Phylogeny of bacteria and studying the major groups of bacteria and their characters, which include: 

(1)          Phototrophic, Chemolithotrophic and Methanotrophic Proteobacteria: (ex. Purple Phototrophic Bacteria, the Nitrifying Bacteria, Sulfur- and Iron-Oxidizing Bacteria, Hydrogen-Oxidizing Bacteria, Methanotrophs and Methylotrophs).

(2)          Aerobic and Facultatively Aerobic Chemoorganotrophic Proteobacteria: (Pseudomonasand the Pseudomonads, Acetic Acid Bacteria, Free-Living Aerobic Nitrogen-Fixing Bacteria, Neisseria, Chromobacterium, and Relatives, Enteric Bacteria, Vibrio, Photobacterium and Rickettsias).

(3)          Morphologically Unusual Proteobacteria: (Spirilla, Sheathed Proteobacteria, Budding and Stalked Bacteria).

(4)          Delta and Epsilonproteobacteria: (Myxobacteria, Sulfate and Sulfur-Reducing Proteobacteria and The Epsilonproteobacteria).
