In this course, students will embark on a comprehensive journey through the intricacies of English phonetics and phonology. Initially, they will delve into the nuanced articulation of English speech sounds, encompassing consonants, vowels, and diphthongs, while mastering the discernment of phonetic features. Subsequently, students will explore the dynamic realm of phonological processes evident in English and other languages, supplemented by an in-depth examination of syllables and the process of syllabification. Transcription skills will be honed to accurately represent spoken language.
