Teaching Philosophy
I believe learning can occur when an individual is ready for it. Therefore, I believe students can learn more when they try to find the information by themselves, not come to them through spoon-feeding. I am committed to creating a safe learning culture that helps the students to learn, and this learning stays in their long-term memory. I am committed to motivating the students to learn, providing them with all the learning recourses they may need, and creating assignments that help them use their research ability to find the information using a scientific database.
I teach nursing leadership and management course that introduce students to the management process and leadership skills within nursing organizations. This course focuses on synthesizing theories and concepts of leadership and management needed to promote personal growth and professional practice to achieve safe, evidence-based, high-quality, patient-centered care and clinical outcomes. My teaching approaches include critical thinking and the promotion of students’ self-awareness and self-care. I encouraged students to self-reading before the class and expected them to actively participate in the classroom through the activities during the lecture. I ask the students to role model scenarios that improve their creativity and critical thinking that important for nursing. This safe environment teaches the students to be the best leader who can take risks, rise to challenges, and recognize strengths and improvement.
