The thesis entitled “ Investigation of a new Intermolecular Potential for non-Polar Gases Through the Study of Second Virial Coefficient”, 1986, Minia University, Egypt.

This thesis concerned with the study of a new form of intermolecular potential for non-polar gases. This new function is chosen to give a potential curve that matches the present status of physical knowledge and possesses a hard repulsive force. The introduced potential includes three adjusted parameters, namely: ợ that determine the intermolecular separation at which the potential is zero, ἐ which gives the depth of the potential and α which is responsible for the sternness of the repulsive part

The thesis entitled “ Investigation of Electron Energy Loss Spectroscopy of Silicon and YBa2Cu3O7-x with Respect to Properties of the Adsorption and Density of State."

In an extended introduction studies of hydrocarbon and alkali metals adsorption on clear silicon surface are shortly reviewed and recent achievements are outline. The main part describes our investigations of Methanol, Methane, Lithium and Potassium adsorption on silicon by reflection electron energy loss spectroscopy (REELS), Auger electron spectroscopy (AES) and records of work function changes (WFC). Electron excitation of YBa2Cu3O7-x polycrystalline material in superconductors form have been investigated by REELS. The data obtained confirm recent band structure models for this materials. Loss peak due to interband transition, plasmon excitations and core electron excitation have been observed, the origin of which is interpreted by a schematic energy level diagram.
