The course is designed to explore the elements of the main groups (s and p- block), including the study of the electronic distribution of the elements of these groups, their occurrence in nature, the physiochemical properties of these elements and their compounds, the methods of extracting these elements and the preparation of their compounds.

The practical part of this course is concerned with the study of the ions of these elements and their interactions, as well as the study of oxidation and reduction states of these ions in different compounds and prepare simple salts from these elements.
