The aim of this course is to make students acquainted to the basic concepts of nanomaterials, changes of chemical, physical and other properties due to size reduction, and the terminology related to science, nanomaterials and nanotechnology. The students will study a classification of the nanomaterials, the approaches and the chemical methods for the preparation focusing on inorganic nanoparticles/nanomaterials, the most recent tools of nanoparticles/nanomaterials characterization, the potential applications and the potential harmful effects of nanomaterials.
