Calculus I is a foundational course designed for first-year students in the College of Science and Engineering. It aims to provide students with the theoretical and practical foundations of limits, continuity, differentiation, and integration, and to develop their ability to apply these concepts to solve scientific and engineering problems. The course covers functions and their types, limits and continuity, rules of differentiation and their applications (slope, velocity, acceleration, maxima and minima), indefinite and definite integrals, and applications such as area calculations. It enhances analytical thinking and problem-solving skills and serves as a prerequisite for advanced mathematics and applied courses.
