This course focuses on the fundamental concepts of pharmacokinetics aimed at optimizing pharmacotherapy and therapeutic drug monitoring. It will emphasize the pharmacokinetics of several drugs, including aminoglycoside antibiotics, carbamazepine, cyclosporine, digoxin, ethosuximide, lidocaine, lithium, methotrexate, phenobarbital, phenytoin, procainamide, quinidine, salicylates, theophylline, tricyclic antidepressants, valproic acid, and vancomycin. In the practical component, we discuss clinical problems and case scenarios in group discussions. The focus will be on interpreting the provided data and solving issues related to individualized dose calculations to optimize drug therapy for specific cases or situations.
