The course focuses on nutritional assessment and calculations for Parenteral Nutrition (PN) or Total Parenteral Nutrition (TPN) in various clinical situations that require it, such as critically ill patients, patients with renal and hepatic failures, and those with metabolic or gastrointestinal disorders. It also covers the complications associated with TPN and the facilities and design of a TPN preparation room. Students will be provided with clinical scenarios to calculate various components of TPN during interactive sessions and exams, which will assess their understanding of the material.
