This course focuses on the physiological basis of pathology, including the etiology of diseases, their signs and symptoms, complications, diagnosis, and treatment. It also explores the relationship between pathophysiology and clinical presentations. Key topics include inflammation, circulatory and cellular disturbances, degeneration, regeneration and repair, the basics of neoplasms, and metabolic diseases. The course covers diseases of the cardiovascular and respiratory systems, dermatological conditions, sexually transmitted infections, and parasitic and microbial diseases. A practical component involves the demonstration of slides and diseased specimens relevant to the laboratory findings of significant diseases that will be discussed during the course.
