SHAHBAZ AHMED MALIK MEHRAM DIN JAVED
It is my great pleasure to introduce myself as a Professional Medical Librarian.
I have been associated with this profession since 1990. It is a long journey to receive different positions and achieve given assignments and goals in this profession.
In the year 2013, I joined Northern Border University and is still working as a Lecturer / Medical Librarian at the Faculty of Medicine and Applied Medical Sciences. I am also responsible for teaching and guiding the medical students and faculty members about the electronic resources using the Saudi Digital Library.
Before joining Northern Border University (NBU), I worked as the Chief Librarian at Dow University of Health Sciences, Karachi, Pakistan, where I established the physical and electronic systems of the library. Here at DUHS, I learned a lot and gained extensive experience in the field of medical librarianship. I played a vital role in policy making, developing strategies, and planning and implementing medical library policies.
I have extensive experience in the field of librarianship and have worked with prestigious organizations in Pakistan, like the Institute of Business Administration (IBA), the Aga Khan University and Hospital, COMMECS College and Education, and the Teachers’ Resource Center (TRC). I received a professional degree in Library and Information Science (MLIS) from the University of Karachi in 2003.
In closing, I am thankful to Dean - Library Affairs and Dean - Faculty of Medicine for supporting and enhancing my professional skills in this regard.
Thank you.
